Last week we began to transition from looking at the doctrinal truth of our identity in Christ to the practical display of that truth. Over the next five weeks we are going to be trying to answer the question I posed this last week. How do we as a church demonstrate a love that is sincere? God has set us free from the legal demands of our sin and the power of sin to control our lives so that he might unleash us into this world to be his hands, feet, and voice. These first two weeks we will look at our love as it relates to God. We claim to love God, yet the greatest commandment is to love the Lord with all of our heart, mind, and soul. Our lives often do not reflect this love. Specifically this week we will look at our love as it relates to the priority of prayer. We often display what we love by what we ask of God (or don’t ask of him). I encourage you to join us this week as we seek to see that prayer should be our priority and then accept the challenge to pray radically differently than we have in the past. I can’t wait to share God’s word with you all.
