It is true that Christmas has become commercialized. As soon as we hit November 1st, it seems that everywhere you look decorations and the big push to finish getting those perfect gifts hits us square in the pocketbook. I don‟t like the commercialism of the season, but I love Christmas. This is the time that we as the people of God set aside time to remember that God came to dwell among His people. It was the first step on earth of God providing the rescue of mankind from sin.The angel announced, “Fear not, for behold,I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.”(Luke 2:10-11 ESV). This week we will take a look at the reason we should celebrate Christmas with joy, but we will also see how Christmas should transform our everyday lives. God came to rescue us and to display His glory through us. Join us this week as we revisit the Christmas story and experience God‟s amazing grace at work in our lives.
