For the last ten days we have watched the leaders of our country posture and argue about who’s at fault for the government shut- down. At the root of all this posturing is pride at all levels of leadership. Pride is al- ways destructive to community. In contrast to what we see displayed out of Washington, Peter reminds us that we are to clothe ourselves with humility. He gives exhortations to both the elders and the church family. Specifically, we will examine this key char- acteristic to living as a community of faith. Why is it necessary and what is that to look like? I hope that you can join us again this week.
