Here we are counting down the twelve days of Christmas. As the song goes, “my true love” gives me a gift each day leading up to Christmas. Gifts like turtledoves, gold rings, a partridge in a pear tree—and it seems to be focused on me. If we are honest, that is what we think Christmas is about. We love getting gifts. And too often we give with the intention that we will get. This week we will explore Simple Christmas as it relates to giving, rather than getting. The Christmas story is centered around sacrifice. What did it look like when God invaded our comfort and security? What might it look like if we not only talked about it, but lived this life of true sacrifice and service? Come join us as we explore this idea.
