Were you surprised by the power and authority we saw Jesus exhibit in his ministry? Does that bring comfort or fear? This week as we come to The Story we will find that Jesus the Messiah unveils a kingdom quite different from the expectations of the Jews. They sought a Messiah who would overturn the political tables and rescue Israel from the oppression of the Roman Empire. He would also establish His kingdom and subject all other nations under the authority of His rule. Yet He disappointed the Jews. He came and spoke of the kingdom being at hand and in terms of an internal transformation. It is a kingdom that few will find or enter—a kingdom whose people live in a way that is counterintuitive, countercultural, and not what one would expect. It is a kingdom where Jesus the Messiah comes to seek and save the lost. Join us this week as God seeks to rearrange our paradigm showing us His desire to be King in our hearts and lives, and to send us out to reflect His glory and grace.
