“…and when they had called in the apostles, they beat them and charged them not to speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go. Then they left the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer dishonor for the name.” Acts 5:40-41. What would cause people to endure intense pain and suffering and then , in response to that, rejoice? This will be the subject of our time together this week.. Peter gives a num- ber of reasons we can rejoice. It is not be- cause of the pain but because of what God is doing through suffering for the sake of the name. I look forward to our time together as we find encouragement and challenge this week. May we rejoice in all circumstances.
