We live in a culture that is addicted to many things. The options we have available to us are mind-numbing at best. From my own experience, I know that it is often hard to make a decision about where to take my family for dinner if we are out and about. The choices available are overwhelming. These addictions grab hold of our hearts and minds and distract us from the truth that Christ is soon to return. Peter goes on to stress important action steps for those who are followers of Christ. In doing so, he starts in a place we often forget, yet it is essential in our lives. He begins with the necessity of cultivating intimacy with the giver of the promise. This week we will explore the commands and their implications. It is my prayer that we would live in the expectancy of Christ’s soon return with purpose and alertness. I look forward to our time together.
