This weekend we celebrate Memorial Day. We remember all those who have served, those who are serving, and those who will soon enter into military service for our country. We will also continue our new series entitled Identity: Who am I? As I reflect on this weekend, my mind moves to the tagline for the Marines. We have all heard it: The Few. The Proud. The Marines. I have friends who have served in the Marine Corps. They were chosen while many others failed to meet the challenge. As we gather this week, we are going to take some time to examine the next statement Paul makes about our identity in Ephesians 1:4-6. He reveals that we were chosen before the foundation of the world. Our goal as we encounter God’s word will be to see what an amazing gift of grace this is and to seek to understand what this means for our daily walk. I invite you to join us again this week to find encouragement in the truth that he chose you!
