Father of mercies and God of all comfort we thank you for your steadfast love. Your mercies are new every morning and great is your faithfulness to us. We are humbled that you would care about us. We confess that our hearts are so prone to running away from your presence. We seek to hide behind fig leaves, and in the bushes. Yet you know and see our every thought. We so often fail to love others as you have loved us. We fail to show compassion but rather are quick to judge the outward appearance. Lord, would you grow us daily in our love for you and our love for others. Would we see you as our greatest treasure. Would you be pleased to increase our compassion for the rebellious. Would we weep over the souls of those who would rather be satisfied with dust than with the Source of living water. And would you grant us greater opportunities to proclaim your goodness in this generation.
