What hinders you from being a witness or going to make disciples of every nation? Last week we celebrated the resurrection of Jesus. In the following 40 days, Jesus presented himself to over 500 witnesses and taught his disciples about the Kingdom of God. His final statement to them was meant to be an encouragement as well as a commission. “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you will be my witnesses…” Jesus promised them two things: the indwelling presence of God and the means to accomplish the mission. He then ascended to heaven in a cloud leaving his disciples to be obedient and accomplish the mission. This week we will examine our part in this mission. What is the focus of our mission? How are we able to accomplish this mission? What are the implications of his indwelling presence in our lives? I look forward to our time together as we continue to understand our part in God’s grand story. Hope to see you!
